Ouida George, A Palm Beach Artist’s Retrospective

This video interview highlights Ouida George’s career as a long-established Florida artist including her reflections of the early Palm Beach art scene. In the early 1950’s Palm Beach was an elegant winter resort where royalty, celebrities and socialites could be seen strolling down the avenue in relative peace. Ouida’s gallery exhibits span from 1950 when there was only one art gallery on Worth Avenue to her last one-woman show in 1994.

Filmed in Ouida’s home-studio this video documentary was first shown in 2009 to commemorate her retrospective show held in the King Library at the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Florida.
